Diane Jacob, LCMHCA

Diane Jacob is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. She graduated in 1999 from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida, with a Master's in Counseling and a Master's in Theological Studies. She spent some time working as a birth parent counselor at Bethany Christian Services, working in grief, loss and crisis situations. She also spent many years involved in her local church as a teacher within a young moms ministry, focusing on faith and parenting.

Diane’s approach to counseling is a relational, interpersonal approach. She believes a safe and confidential counseling relationship allows a client to be who they are, and share the things that they might not otherwise feel safe to share. In this context of relationship, a client can speak of life’s difficulties and begin to process them with someone else. Whether it be physical suffering, emotional distress or relational difficulties, Diane’s hope is to work with each client to come up with treatment and goals towards something more life giving.

As a Christian clinical counselor, Diane's approach also involves an integration of faith and psychology. Her faith, which lies so much at the heart of her own life, is integrated into her practice. She believes that at the core of who we are, we were made to know and be known. As a result, counseling can help bring the Gospel to bear on each story that is shared, on a journey richly rooted in knowing and being known. While for many, faith is an important part of the counseling journey, Diane recognizes this may not be true for everyone, and will respect each client’s personal choice.

Diane is married to her husband Chuck, and they have three children. Apart from the gift of sitting with her clients, Diane loves grabbing a cup of coffee with a close friend, laughing hard with her family, and hanging with her chocolate lab.
